I wasn't always an alpaca farmer. In 2014, I fell in love with these fuzzy, gentle creatures and bought my first four. Fast forward to today, and our herd has grown to 17!  Sacred Acres Alpaca Farm in Virginia has become a dream come true – and we want to share that journey with you.

The Transformation: Our Journey with Alpacas

Humble Beginnings: We started our alpaca adventure with modest ambitions, boarding a handful of these gracious creatures while we transformed our land into a sanctuary perfect for their needs. In 2017, after three years of careful preparation, the big move took place!

Growing the Herd and the Farm: With a deep commitment to ethical breeding practices, we have diligently grown our herd over the years. Today, our farm is home to a beautiful and healthy collection of alpacas, some of whom were born right here on our land.

National Alpaca Farm Days:  A Tradition of Sharing:Sharing our love for alpacas with our community is a passion that drives us. Since 2017, we have proudly participated in National Alpaca Farm Days, an annual event where we invite visitors to experience the wonder of these fascinating animals.

Weather the Storm (and Thriving After)

Amid the unexpected curveball of March 2020, our retail store and fiber studio faced a sudden shutdown. Nevertheless, we demonstrated resilience by promptly adapting to the challenging circumstances. For two years, we skillfully pivoted our operations to prioritize safety, successfully hosting outdoor events that showcased our commitment to serving our customers and preserving our business.
